1. Product Introduction
Rapid HBeAg test is an immunochromatography based one step in vitro test. It
is designed for qualitative determination of HBeAg in human serum, plasma or whole blood specimens.
HBeAg is an antigen of hepatitis B virus sometimes present in the blood during acute infection, usually disappearing afterward but sometimes persisting in chronic
disease. This antigen is a protein from the HBV that circulates in infected blood when the virus is actively replicating. The presence of HBeAg suggests that the person is infectious and is able to spread the virus to other
people.
A positive test for HBeAg means that there is an active infection with the HBV and the virus is actively multiplying. Anyone who is in contact with your blood
without protection may be at risk of contracting hepatitis B from you.
